Villa Amalia is located in a privileged position on the Amalfi Coast in the most typical and charming hamlet of the town called "Rotolo" as a wonderful balcony overlooking the most charming italian sea. The name "Rotolo" comes from the idea of the sun that "rolls" over the hamlet from dawn to setting. The villa is situated in the town of Cava de'Tirreni 23 motorway miles from international airport of Naples and 10 miles from Salerno Airport, surrounded by a green country-side and the nearly sea; the bright green of its valley was admired by the Romans who founded here a summer residence built by the Metello's family.

Amalfi Coast - Cava de'Tirreni

Welcome to the Amalfi Coast
The areas covered in UNESCO world heritage in radius of 15 miles from Villa Amalia.

Cava represents the gate of the Amalfi Coast, from which it's separated by a one mile verdant road. Cava is a star-shaped town for its distinctive urban structure. In fact, it is characterized by a central city, the Borgo, and by more twenty hamlets which form a kind of crown to the Borgo. The origins date back to the years following the Abbey foundation in 1080.
